- Communication
- 3.1 As a student leader I acknowledge the audience and purpose of the occasion and adapt the speech and content accordingly. I do this as my job as spirit commissioner. I read the crowd and react differently to other sports. This skill helps me make student sections the best I can. The way to interact with a crowd varies from football to volleyball.
- 7.5 As a student leader I treat others with compassion and empathy all the time. A specific example of this was when foreign exchange students just got there that week and missed the sale of hoopla tickets I talked with my teacher to get a way for them to get in because it was our last dance at the Highschool. I wanted to make sure they got the experience that every other High Schooler in America gets the chance to have. I even took them home afterwards because they would not have been able to go unless they had a ride.
- Personal & Social Development
- 1.4 As a student leader I serve as a participating member in groups. In leadership I participate during group activities giving my ideas on different things. During leadership development day I did lots of group activities with all 3 Tracy schools. I was even the team leader for my group. In class I also participate when splitting into groups. Leadership development day was September 7th
- Meeting with Chitwood.
- Civic & Service Learning
- 1.1 As a student leader I develop partnerships with various student, school, parent, and community groups when running and planning Dog Pounds. When I run a student section I am not only working with the students in the section but with Shiela and dance and cheer but also with Mr. Cortez and band. As well as getting help through Anthony Lavelle and his mom to get the Tracy High boosters parents to dress with our student section themes at the White out and Tropical games. We also had the debate of where to put the student section with the parents because taking seats from the parents in the middle ended up as a problem. I also personally convinced our principle to let us do powder for our Homecoming student section by understanding the dynamics of the powers of my superiors.
- 1.2 While running student sections I had to realize the ASB budget and spending. This was because ASB needed to not only buy the things for student sections but also for many other school activities and other things. I had to be aware of our spending and balance that throughout the year.
- Government
- 2.3 Apart of student government I participate in weekly class ASB meetings. As my position as spirit and dog pound commissioner I give an update as what I'm doing and working on in my position. When I participate in these meetings I follow my chain in command. I prove I have completed in my job by keeping our leadership class up to date on the events and dog pound events I am planning.
- 2.1 In my position as Spirit Commissioner I follow this standard by knowing the rules for student sections both by the district and CIF. I also must acknowledge why we should follow these rules both ethically and the punishments that could come with not following them. That's why I always worked to keep our student sections as not only a good reflection of Tracy high but kind and respectful.
- Technology & Digital Citizenship.
- 2.1 As a student leader I cultivate and manage my digital identity and reputation, and demonstrate awareness of the permanence of my actions in the digital world. In this website and along with any personal social media presence I post strictly appropriate things to keep a clean digital footprint. I also represent myself and how I feel I am in this website in order to present myself to the community.
- Business & Finance
- 1.6 When planning a dog pound I have to look into how I can upgrade our experiences for our students while keeping under the budget. For example the theme shown below was tropical themed. When getting items for the students in the student section we want to be creative when purchasing props. For this dog pound we purchased pool noodles and to save money we cut them into 4's so there would be plenty for everyone. In order to spend the money for the dog pound I had to get it approved by my student council through ASB meetings.
- 1.2 When Senior beach day came this year I used standard 1.2 to help figure out how much food we would need. I checked with Mr. Chitwood to see how much money they spent on the catering the year before. I also texted the owner of the restaurant to organize the food for senior beach day.
